Sustainable Meals is an initiative that reimagines our everyday meals into sustainable ones through various speculative designs, with the aim to spread awareness about the lack of traceability and transparency within our supply chain for food.
From transforming regular barcodes into barcodes with colour-coded symbols, the customer becomes aware how traceable a supply chain is for a product and how good the impact is. This information about the supply chain traceability is also accessible to customers on their scanners while shopping in supermarkets. The cumulative impact of their monthly shop can be found on their phone. Sustainable Meals aims to show the causes and effects of what we eat, allowing customers to choose more sustainable ingredients when cooking their meals. These sustainable recipes can be entered into a collective cookbook that allows others to access them.
